Al Hajj Fidahusein Haji Mohamed Khaki (1921–2016) was a revered philanthropist, community leader, and visionary whose life was devoted to the betterment of others. Known for his piety, humility, and wisdom, he was fondly referred to by some as the "Luqman Hakim of the community"—a reflection of his profound insight and exemplary character. His glowing face, marked with sincerity and compassion, became a beacon of hope and inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Through his tireless efforts, Al Hajj Fidahusein left an indelible legacy across continents, shaping the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri community with his commitment to service, unity, and knowledge.
Born in 1921 in Mundra, India, Al Hajj Fidahusein grew up in an environment that instilled discipline, integrity, and a profound sense of responsibility. He migrated to East Africa in 1938, where he initially settled in Lindi before moving to Songea, Tanzania.
In East Africa, he became a successful businessman while dedicating his life to serving the community. He played an instrumental role in establishing religious, educational, and healthcare institutions, benefiting people of all faiths. His work reflected a deep commitment to uplifting the less fortunate and fostering communal harmony.
